       " When we moved to Portland, we were at the end of almost 20 years of living overseas. Much of the planning we did for our renovation took place in quick trips to Portland or via telephone conferences with an 8-hour time difference. To complicate matters more, we required a whole-house renovation with some pretty complex system features -- and as far as aesthetics, we had a very clear vision. Luckily, with Steve and his crew, we found people who listened to what we wanted and were skilled enough to figure out how to get it for us. And they had the subcontractors who could install high-quality custom features that fit into our budget: kitchen cabinets, tiling, moulding and replacement cabinetry for fir built-ins.
